Strap yourself in for even more Final Fantasy content after Square Enix released a patch teaser for the upcoming Patch 3.4 for Final Fantasy XIV (FFXIV). The rage might all be about FFXV, but there’s still plenty of fun to be had with pre-existing games and Square have been ever-faithful in maintaining their older titles.

The patch, titled Soul Surrender, launches on September 27th and will be spearheaded by new missions both within the main story and in side quests. An extension to the Warring Triad series as well as a thrilling final chapter to the Alexander Raid means that players should be on the edge of their seats as they await its release.
Soul Surrender will also include two big changes to the game; Wolves’ Den duels and new housing opportunities. The former sees players now having the ability to challenge each other to duels within the Wolves’ Den, with other players being able to spectate in on the action. The latter is bolstered by the addition of apartment complexes in each residential area, bringing city life to the fore in FFXIV.
Gold Saucer updates, as well as some tweaks to the battle system, round out a big patch for FFXIV. It’s now been three years since the popular Massive Multiplayer Online (MMO) game launched, and its popularity shows no sign of slowing down.
The Final Fantasy train never stops, though. The Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival (say that five times, fast!) gets underway in Las Vegas next month before continuing its world tour across Japan and Germany into the first quarter of 2017. With more than six million players around the world, these events are sure to be packed out with like-minded adventurers.
Does Square Enix’s maintenance and content stream for Final Fantasy XIV make the delay of Final Fantasy XV any easier to swallow?
