Regional and Wildcard qualification schedules are done and dusted and we are now less than one month away from the big dance in the League of Legends eSports circuit. The 2016 World Championships begins with a double round-robin event featuring the 16 best teams from around the globe on September 29th and culminates with a best-of-five final on October 29th at Staples Centre in Los Angeles to decide which team is the best in the world.
Teams learned of their entry point into the competition today, with each of the four groups announced for the tournament.
|GROUP A||GROUP B||GROUP C||GROUP D|
|ROX Tigers||Flash Wolves||Edward Gaming||Team SoloMid|
|G2 eSports||SK Telekom T1||ahq eSports Club||Royal Never Give Up|
|Counter Logic Gaming||I May||H2K||Samsung Galaxy|
|Albus NoX Luna||Cloud9||INTZ eSports||Splyce|
Group D has affectionately been labelled as the Group of Death as it harbours some of the most in-form teams in the world. While Samsung Galaxy and Splyce may not hold the prestige of popular teams like Team SoloMid and Royal Never Give Up, they come into the tournament on the back of incredible local form.

Albus NoX Luna and INTZ eSports join groups A and C respectively after taking out victory in the League of Legends 2016 International Wildcard Qualifiers late last month and they face a tough task. Albus NoX Luna come up against ROX Tigers, G2 eSports, and Counter Logic Gaming, all teams with vast experience on the international scene. INTZ eSports might be up against less recognisable opponents but Edward Gaming, ahq eSports Club, and H2K have all got what it takes to progress well beyond the group stage.
