Cubus Games Presents: Deadman Diaries.

Cubus Games are a small team based out of Barcelona, consisting of gamebook crafters and interactive arts and culture specialists.  The team at Cubus Games have just announced their new “choose-your-own-adventure” gamebook, Deadman Diaries.  Check out the teaser below!

Deadman Diaries is a new twist on the choose-your-own-adventure genre called a gamebook.  It has been designed to be easy to read, and not too time consuming.  The creators have quoted the following about their new game:

“This story is staged away from the typical worlds of sci-fi and fantasy to present a contemporary ‘black’ and neo-noir thriller drawing from referents like the cinema of Scorsese and the Coen Brothers, and TV series such as The Sopranos, without ignoring the influence of the most classical cinema ‘noir’ and the thrillers of James M.Cain and Patricia Highsmith.”

Presented in the form of a personal diary, the reader will take on the character and life of John Riggs.  John Riggs is a banker who is tasked with paying off his gambling debts, which will lead him into many different situations, and many times into mortal danger.  In Deadman Diaries, readers will have a massive amount of options for story direction while saving, or possibly even killing John Riggs.

Finally, Deadman Diaries is available for iOS and Android at around $1.30 AUD ($0.99 USD) as a special launch price.  The game is available in English, Spanish, and Catalan.
